concept of person perception. Discuss then theories and biases related to

Person perception is the process through which individuals form impressions, judgments, and beliefs about others. This process is crucial for social interaction as it helps individuals navigate their social environments, make decisions, and predict others' behavior.
Attribution
Theory: Developed by Fritz Heider in the 1950s, attribution theory seeks to
understand how individuals explain the causes of behavior. It proposes that
people attribute behavior to either internal factors (dispositional
attribution) or external factors (situational attribution). For example, if
someone fails an exam, we might attribute their failure to their lack of
intelligence (internal attribution) or to the difficulty of the exam (external
attribution).
Correspondent
Inference Theory: Proposed by Edward E. Jones and Keith E. Davis, this theory
suggests that people make inferences about others' traits or dispositions based
on their observed behaviors, especially when the behavior is freely chosen,
socially undesirable, or reveals something about the person's character. For
example, if someone helps a stranger, we may infer that they are kind and
helpful.
Cognitive Dissonance Theory: Introduced by Leon Festinger, cognitive dissonance theory suggests that individuals experience discomfort when their beliefs or attitudes are inconsistent with their actions. To reduce this discomfort, they may alter their attitudes or beliefs. For example, if someone criticizes a movie they previously claimed to enjoy, they may experience cognitive dissonance and either change their opinion or rationalize their criticism.
Fundamental
Attribution Error: This bias refers to the tendency to attribute others'
behavior to internal factors while underestimating the influence of situational
factors. For example, if someone cuts you off in traffic, you might assume they
are a reckless driver rather than considering that they may be rushing to an
emergency.
Actor-Observer
Bias: This bias involves attributing one's own behavior to external factors
while attributing others' behavior to internal factors. For example, if you
fail a test, you might blame it on the difficult questions (external factor),
but if someone else fails, you might attribute it to their lack of effort or
ability (internal factor).
Self-Serving
Bias: This bias occurs when individuals attribute their successes to internal
factors (e.g., skill, effort) but attribute their failures to external factors
(e.g., bad luck, unfair circumstances). For example, if you win a competition,
you might attribute your success to your talent and hard work, but if you lose,
you might blame it on the judges' bias or the competition's format.
Understanding
these theories and biases can help individuals become more aware of their own
